Summative Assessment

Hi everyone! It’s me again. 

I’m Sabila Salma and it’s been nice talking with you guys (?). I’m kinda rushed, you see. But you get my point!

These are the questions I have to answer;

1. What do you know about opinion?

Opinion, I think, is a view or judgment formed about something. it reflects personal viewpoints shaped by our experiences, knowledge, and emotions. theyre not necessarily based on facts, but rather can be influenced by media/peer-groups.

3. What topics can be for opinions?

Topics that I would like to discuss with others are: 

a. Is feminism still needed today?

b. How can society bettersupport survivors of sexual assault and challenge harmful attitudes?

b. What do you think about the rape culture?

d. What steps can universities/schools take to address and prevent sexual violence?

e. What do you think is the correlation between feminism movement and rape culture?

5. What do you know about short functional text?

Short functional texts are the one we know as a short text that has particular meaning and purpose. They are valued for their ability to convey information efficient — and are used in our daily life.

7. When you visit a school, what kinds of short functional text do you find?

In schools, we’ll usually find short texts lile classroom schedules, sign-in sheets (in library, preferably) and emergency procedures.

10. Mention 3 titles of descriptive texts you have learned!

I have learned three texts, and their titles are In The Heart of Cedarvale, My House, and The Logo of Indomaret.

11. How do you like Semarang?

I like it here because i was born here. In particular, I like living here. What I love most about Semarang is this specific Mall (that’s like, the love of my life, by the way) and I’m looking forward to visit it every week.

13. What is recount text?

Recount text is a text which retells event or past experiences. its written or spoken narrative that focuses on providing a factual and chronological account of what happened.

15. Tell me about your experience yesterday!

I went to my friends house yesterday to bake. We had lots of fun; we also fried some tempuras and ate them conversationally. When I got to my parents' house, I packed my belongings. My father take me for a ride to my grandma’s. After I unpacked my belongings, I played Genshin Impact until midnight.

18. Suppose you are in a place of a burning building, what things will you say?

  • What I will say: "Help; Emergency! Save me!"
  • What I will do: call for help, alert others, use fire alarms, dead & follow exit instructions, cover mouth and nose;, but most importantly, I will not panic, I will stay calm.

20. What are the characteristics of a procedure text?

Procedure texts are known for their clarity and precision. They use imperative verbs, maintain a logical sequence, list materials and precautions, and often include visual aids like diagrams. These characteristics ensure that users can follow the steps accurately and safely.

DESCRIPTIVE TEXT: A GREEN TRASH BIN

  A trash bin overflowing with waste assaults the senses with a strong and unpleasant odor. The smell is a mix of decaying food and other refuse, creating a pungent and overwhelming atmosphere. The smell, a mix of sour, rotten, and earthy scents, fills the air and makes a lasting impression. Visually, the bin is a chaotic mess of crumpled papers, plastic wrappers, and decomposing fruits. The contents form an unattractive and disorganized mosaic within the bin. Flies may swarm around, adding to the unsightly appearance. If you touch the bin, it feels warm due to the heat generated by the decomposition process. The surface may be slimy from the residue of decomposing matter, making any contact an unpleasant experience. The weight of the accumulated waste may cause the bin to sag, adding to the overall discomfort of interacting with it.

Comic

[picture of said comic to be added] Our teacher told us to make a comic. She didn’t specify how, like do we have to draw it, or we can just snatch pictures from Pinterest and slapped our dialogues and then call it a day? That was why I was flabbergasted when we had like just one day to complete it. Turns out it was the latter. My friend (who was working with me) insisted we should draw the comic ourselves and that she wouldn’t like to grab pictures off Pinterest and edit the dialogues on Canva. It’s not what we’re made for , she said.  I didn’t like the countdown the teacher did. It threw me over the edge, like I was chased by something. It made me nervous. I hate feeling nervous.  My friend did the drawing and me, undoubtedly, the dialogues. She said it was only fair. But she drew very beautiful drawing, and I only made some dialogues?
